Named After a Sacred Mountain
Loormalasin Adventure & Safaris takes its name from Mount Lolmalasin (also spelled Loolmalasin), the highest peak in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the third tallest mountain in Tanzania at 3,700 meters. The name "ilmalasin" means "large calabash" in Maasai, reflecting the mountain's distinctive shape and the sacred status it holds among the Maasai people who call this region home.
Our company was founded with a deep passion for exploration and an unwavering commitment to responsible, community-driven tourism. Our expert guides, many from the local Maasai community, bring generations of knowledge about the land, wildlife, and cultural traditions of northern Tanzania.
What started as sharing the beauty of Tanzania with a few curious travelers has grown into a full-service safari company. Yet our core mission remains unchanged: to create meaningful travel experiences that benefit both travelers and the Maasai communities throughout northern Tanzania, while preserving the natural heritage for future generations.
